DATA-GRID offers consulting services in the following areas:
- Design/development of DBMS-backed web sites that take advantage of Web 2.0 software components: AJAX and Ruby on Rails. Our expertise is on the back-end. We work with front-end design firms.
- Transitioning existing systems to SOA and the Semantic Web.
- Semantic data integration projects.
- Database schema design/implementation — especially for large, complex applications that use data from several sites on the Web.
- XML to OWL ontology translation. Many vertical markets now have standard ontologies defined in XML. Given that real-world ontologies often form directed graphs rather than simple XML trees, it often makes sense to translate the XML ontology into OWL and implement the data management subsystem based on the richer OWL semantics.
We currently do only relatively short-duration, focused consulting projects, ranging from $25K to $250K in size. We can also provide 1-3 day training programs in the integration of semantic data modeling and light-weight Web 2.0 software platforms.
